New threats to human security in the Anthropocene: Demanding greater solidarity

The report, New Threats to Human Security in the Anthropocene, shows that people’s sense of safety and security is at a low in almost every country, including the richest countries, despite years of upwards development success.

The new UNDP report examines a cluster of threats that have shifted to become more prominent in recent years including those from digital technologies, climate change, inequalities, conflicts and the ability of healthcare systems to tackle new challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic.

The imperative to act now has never been clearer as the report findings show that global life expectancy at birth is falling and overall human development measures are going downwards. Join us for this deep dive into todays interconnected threats and the actions needed to create new pathways for human security in the Anthropocene.

The Swedish launch will be livestreamed from Venue 81 in Stockholm 25 February, 1.30 pm CET. You can watch the event via this link!
